Who Are We?

About Us

Joint Initiative

We are a joint initiative between Jamie Denham’s West End Yoga Centre and Alan Carter of Benefitting Beings through Wisdom an associate of FPMT (The Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition).

We are developing a community of like-minded people who are interested in the teachings of the Buddha. We are trying to keep the facility cost to a minimum to cover costs and any additional monies will be donated to Buddhist projects.

The FPMT organization was founded in 1975 by Lama Thubten Yeshe (1935-84) and Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche, both Tibetan Buddhist monks.

The Foundation is devoted to preserving and spreading Mahayana Buddhism worldwide by creating opportunities to listen, reflect, meditate, practice, and actualize the unmistaken teachings of the Buddha and based on that experience spreading the Dharma to sentient beings. https://fpmt.org/

In 2018 Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche gave it a new name. All courses including ones held at Brisbane Square Library can be found on meetup https://www.meetup.com/en-AU/Buddhist-Philosophy-Meditation/
