Before coming to Yoga, Antoine was practicing Martial Arts and was teaching in both the Ministry of Defence and the University of Southampton. Antoine Stopped both the teaching and practicing in 2003 two years after receiving his 4th degree black belt in traditional Japanese martial art under Hatsumi Seinsi while progressively developing a stronger interest in Yoga. Antoine DAVID started Iyengar Yoga in UK with Anne Richardson and Taria Smith, followed in Strasbourg with Sandrine Lecourt, and in Paris with Philippe Mar.
He did his Iyengar Teacher training with yoga master Sricharan Faeq Biria and his wife Corinne Biria, director of the Iyengar Yoga Centre of Paris, became certified Iyengar Teacher Level 2 in 2007 and Level 3 in 2011.
Antoine followed the classes of Faeq and Corinne in the Paris Iyengar centre and was assistant professor to both the Therapeutic classes and group classes. Antoine opened Yoga classes in 2005 in Barbizon and then moved to Australia in July 2008.
Antoine took part in numerous intensives and Yoga National and international conventions (Paris 1999, London 2002, Blacon 2003, Blacon 2004, Victoria 2004, Paris 2005, Paris 2006, Blacon 2005, Toulouse 2006, Blacon 2006, Anger 2006, Blacon 2007, Anger 2007, New Zealand 2009, Maroochydore 2009, Blacon 2012, Blacon 2015).
Antoine follows the teaching of BKS Iyengar from Puna India. Participated to numerous 15 days international Blacon Yoga intensives from Faeq Biria attended by some over 30 nationalities each year. Antoine will be attending in July 2015 another 2 weeks of Yoga intensive with Sricharan Faeq Biria.
He now further is qualification and ongoing training by attending Alan Goode Professional Development at the Iyengar Institute in Canberra and attending Blacon in August 2015.
While Antoine has been a yoga teacher full time while living in France, Antoine Holds a PhD in Active control of vibration and works for States of Queensland’s Environment’s department giving his technical advice for major’s project and interacting with other states departments.
